Alexandra Hoegberg is a communications professional at the junction of old-school journalism and new media. She applies the principles of traditional storytelling and the agility of social media to craft appealing, fact-based narratives tailored for targeted audiences.
She puts her skills to use at Uppsala Monitoring Centre, the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring – a non-profit public health actor leading developments in the field of global pharmacovigilance (that means medicines safety, in case you were wondering).
She spent her 20’s studying and working abroad – primarily in the Greater China region. Before relocating to Stockholm in early 2015, she worked with financial news at Reuters News in Hong Kong. Prior to that she worked as an international coordinator at a Sino-Swedish research centre in China, where copy editing and cross-cultural communications made up the cornerstones of her expertise.
Alexandra holds a Master of Journalism degree from The University of Hong Kong and a B.A. in Chinese from Uppsala University. She speaks English, Swedish, Mandarin Chinese, and German.
