Alexandra Hoegberg is a communications professional at the junction of old-school journalism and new media. She applies the principles of traditional storytelling and the agility of social media to craft appealing, fact-based narratives tailored for targeted audiences.
She puts her skills to use at Uppsala Monitoring Centre, the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring – a non-profit public health actor leading developments in the field of global pharmacovigilance (that means medicines safety, in case you were wondering).
She spent her 20’s studying and working abroad – primarily in the Greater China region. Before re-relocating to Stockholm in early 2015, she worked with financial news at Reuters News in Hong Kong. Prior to that she worked as an international coordinator at a Sino-Swedish research centre in China, where copy editing and cross-cultural communications made up the cornerstones of her expertise.
Alexandra holds a Master of Journalism-degree from The University of Hong Kong and a B.A. in Chinese from Uppsala University. She speaks English, Swedish, Mandarin Chinese, and German.
